Matcha No Michi is back this month 🍵

join us as we explore the cultural roots of matcha across eastern asia and learn how to prepare it traditionally. then we’ll put our own spin on it by mixing custom matcha latte blends.

we get asked all the time… what’s the difference between handbuilding and wheel throwing?

HANDBUILDING
a broad term for shaping clay by hand using techniques like pinching, coiling, and sculpting. the possibilities are pretty limitless. it takes a little longer during workshops, but because we use less water there’s more room for customization and you get closer to a finished piece in one session. its a more relaxing and straightforward process.

WHEEL THROWING
a bit messier and more of a physical challenge. there’s more water involved, and pieces can’t usually be finished in a single class. after you make them, we slow dry the pieces and trim them the next day before they continue through the firing process.

these ladies pulled up on a Sunday morning ready to rock, and they absolutely BODIED these handbuilt mugs. pure perfection!

Hi, i’m AMANDA!

I’m the owner of SEEING GREEN STUDIO. I started this business as a little mobile plant shop in 2021, and here is where we’ve ended up 5 years later.

If you took a class with us early in our journey, I was likely the instructor bumbling awkwardly through your lesson. I’m a self-taught potter of 5 years, so I have pretty gnarly imposter syndrome when it comes to telling people what do to.

I started this little studio as a way to fund my insatiable hunger for exploring the world of ceramics — something I had to do to commit to the lifestyle of practicing the craft every day. With time, it has grown into something bigger than my own self-guided interests. It’s a livelihood, a lifestyle, and community.

I’m so proud of what the studio has evolved into- a safe space where curiosity is rewarded and play is encouraged. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings for our little creative social club 💚
