ceramics has always been more than craft. it’s culture, survival, storytelling, and lineage.

we honor trailblazers like David Drake, who carved poetry into the surfaces of storage jars while enslaved.

Augusta Savage, whose sculptural work shaped the harlem renaissance.

Contemporary voices like Simone Leigh, Roberto Lugo, and Woody de Othello, each expanding what ceramics can hold both conceptually and culturally.

Hi, i’m AMANDA!

I’m the owner of SEEING GREEN STUDIO. I started this business as a little mobile plant shop in 2021, and here is where we’ve ended up 5 years later.

If you took a class with us early in our journey, I was likely the instructor bumbling awkwardly through your lesson. I’m a self-taught potter of 5 years, so I have pretty gnarly imposter syndrome when it comes to telling people what do to.

I started this little studio as a way to fund my insatiable hunger for exploring the world of ceramics — something I had to do to commit to the lifestyle of practicing the craft every day. With time, it has grown into something bigger than my own self-guided interests. It’s a livelihood, a lifestyle, and community.

I’m so proud of what the studio has evolved into- a safe space where curiosity is rewarded and play is encouraged. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings for our little creative social club 💚
