SEEING GREEN STUDIO is a woman and minority owned specialty plant shop located inside of the Artful Flea in Catonsville, Maryland.
We want to bring you beautiful plants while equipping you with the tools you need to care for them. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions about your purchase.
We care for the plants in our shop the same way we care for the plants in our own home. That's why all of our plants in 3"- 6" pots are potted in our SOUL SOIL mix.
When we receive plants from our suppliers, we find that many of the plants are rootbound.
Rootbound plants are unable to effectively absorb water due to the lack of moisture-retaining medium surrounding the roots. To remedy this, we repot all smaller plants into our soil formula made with high quality ingredients.
Fresh soil promotes foliage growth and maximizes long-term root health. This means happier, healthier plants that are easier to care for and don't require any additional repotting once they're in your hands.
We only use organic, high quality materials in the care and treatment of every plant in our inventory.
Our SOUL SOIL is composed of:
Fox Farm 'Happy Frog' organic potting soil - releases organic nutrients for up to 6 months.
Size 3 perlite - provides aeration to prevent root rot
Horticultural vermiculite - controls moisture and retains nutrients
Horticultural charcoal - controls odors, bacteria, and provides aeration to prevent root rot.
Coco coir husks - provides aeration while simultaneously retaining moisture, allowing plants to dry out at an optimal rate
Our shop also features a unique selection of Hoyas. We are always expanding our specimen plant collection to bring you a wide variety of our favorite genus. Come peruse our home-grown hoya collection in our greenhouse cabinet inside of our shop.
